Also, because it may affect insulin sensitivity, blood glucose levels should be monitored closely when alpha-Lipoic acid supplementation is added to diabetes treatment regimens. In addition, alpha-Lipoic acid supplementation may increase the requirement for biotin in humans.
Precautions: Pregnant or Nursing or Prescription Medications: Alpha-Lipoic acid may affect the body's metabolism of certain medications, including Cisplatin and Cyclophosphamide.
