Product Specific Information: Made in Hawaii, USA with domestic & imported ingredients, FDA-registered facility. Chinese Yam (Dioscorea polystachya) tuber alcohol-free liquid extract (glycerite).
Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions: Shake well. 20–30 drops (about 0.7–1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper) in 2 oz of water, tea or juice, up to 4 times a day or as directed by your practitioner. Glycerites may also be taken directly.
Precautions re: All Other: Chinese yam is an edible food and generally well tolerated, but a few notes apply. Hormones: it contains diosgenin, which has mild estrogen-like activity, so if you have a hormone-sensitive condition or take hormone medicines, talk to your doctor before using concentrated amounts. Pregnancy / nursing: although it is a traditional food, safety data for concentrated extracts is limited - do NOT use it during pregnancy without medical advice, and consult a practitioner before use if you are breastfeeding. Raw tuber: the fresh raw tuber can irritate the skin, mouth and throat because of calcium-oxalate crystals - much less of an issue in an extract, but handle raw yam with care. Do not use it to self-treat any medical condition - see a qualified doctor instead. Do not give it to infants or young children. If you take any medication or have a medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use. Keep out of reach of children. Discontinue use if any adverse reaction occurs.
Storage: Do not use if the seal is broken or missing. Store in a cool, dry place.
