Product Specific Information: Glehnia (Glehnia littoralis) root, alcohol-free liquid extract (glycerite). Ingredients: Glehnia (Glehnia Littoralis) Dry Root. Origin: Russia.
Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions: Shake well. 20–30 drops (about 0.7–1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper) in 2 oz of water, tea or juice, up to 4 times a day or as directed by your practitioner. Glycerites may also be taken directly.
Precautions re: All Other: Sun sensitivity: as a carrot-family plant, glehnia contains furanocoumarins (such as psoralen and bergapten) that can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid strong sun and tanning beds while using it, especially in concentrated form, and stop if your skin reacts. Medications: these compounds can affect how the body processes some medicines (through the liver enzyme CYP3A4). Consult your practitioner before use if you take any medication. Traditional incompatibility: considered incompatible with Li Lu (Veratrum), a toxic plant. Do not combine them. Pregnancy / nursing: do NOT use during pregnancy, and consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use if breastfeeding. Allergy: it is in the Apiaceae (carrot/parsley) family; avoid if sensitive to that family. Do not give to infants or young children. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing or taking medication, consult your doctor before use. Discontinue use if any adverse reaction occurs.
