Label Statements

Formulation re: Does NOT Contain: Formulated without gluten, fragrances, or any artificial and natural colors.

Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions: Shake well. 20–30 drops (about 0.7–1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper) in 2 oz of water, tea or juice, up to 4 times a day or as directed by your practitioner. Tinctures may also be taken directly.

Precautions re: All Other: Mace is safe as an ordinary food spice in small amounts, but it is not harmless in large amounts. Overdose / psychoactive: mace contains myristicin and elemicin, which are toxic and mind-altering. Taking too much can cause anxiety, confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, a racing heart, and in serious cases incoherent speech or seizures. Never exceed the suggested serving; keep use short-term. Do not use it for any recreational or mind-altering purpose. Medications: myristicin acts like a monoamine-oxidase (MAO) inhibitor, so do NOT combine mace with antidepressants (such as SSRIs or MAOIs) or other serotonin-affecting medicines (risk of serotonin syndrome). Check with your doctor if you take any medication. Pregnancy / nursing: do NOT use it during pregnancy, and avoid amounts larger than food seasoning while breastfeeding. Children: keep it well away from children - even accidental over-ingestion has caused serious poisoning in a child. Contains alcohol. Do not use it to self-treat any medical condition - see a qualified doctor instead. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the seal is broken or missing.
