Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions: Shake well. 20–30 drops (about 0.7–1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper) in 2 oz of water, tea or juice, up to 4 times a day or as directed by your practitioner. Glycerites may also be taken directly.
Precautions re: All Other: Sicklepod (Jue Ming Zi) seed contains natural laxative anthraquinones. Laxative effect / not for long-term use: the seed contains anthraquinones (the same laxative compounds found in senna), so it stimulates the bowels and can cause cramps and loose stools. Do NOT use it for more than one to two weeks at a time - long-term or high-dose use can cause the bowels to stop working normally, lead to laxative dependence, and cause a harmless but abnormal darkening of the bowel lining (melanosis coli). Diarrhea / loose stools: do not use it if you already have loose stools or diarrhea, as it will make them worse. Blood pressure: it may lower blood pressure - use caution if you have low blood pressure or take blood-pressure medication. Pregnancy / nursing: do NOT use it during pregnancy, and consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use if you are breastfeeding. Do not use it to self-treat any medical condition - see a qualified doctor instead. Do not give it to infants or young children. If you take any medication or have a medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing or taking medication, consult your doctor before use. Discontinue use if any adverse reaction occurs.
Storage: Do not use if the seal is broken or missing. Store in a cool, dry place.
