Study, Trial or Testing Result Summary
Members Only19 human studies · 5 improved
4 of these 19 human studies gave vitamin b12 by injection, not by mouth.
This product gives 1000 mcg of vitamin B12 a day. The evidence that it raises energy in people who are not deficient is weak, but so is the direct evidence against it. A review of 16 randomized trials with 6276 people without deficiency found no benefit for thinking or mood, and only one trial measured fatigue, so fatigue could not be judged [1]. A single 1000 mcg vitamin B12 injection did not ease voice fatigue in 20 singers compared with placebo [2]. Other trials tested mixes with other ingredients rather than vitamin B12 alone. Most used far lower vitamin B12 doses than this product. About three years of low-dose B vitamins did not improve quality of life in 2029 heart patients [3]. Twelve weeks of a multinutrient supplement did not change fatigue in 172 dialysis patients [4]. Four weeks of a combination supplement did not improve performance or fatigue in 41 cyclists [5]. Injections of liver extract with folic acid and vitamin B12 did no better than placebo in 15 people with chronic fatigue syndrome [6]. Overall, there is no good sign that it boosts energy without a deficiency, but few trials have tested vitamin B12 alone for fatigue. Animal and cell studies are never counted.

Biohacker Summary
Members Only6 of 10 recommend it
Most of the panel recommends vitamin B12, with five of the ten giving a recommendation as their latest position and a few more using it or staying neutral. They mostly take it for nerve health and myelin, brain function and mood, and to correct a deficiency, with several noting that vegans and older people are at higher risk and that testing levels is wise. The form most often favored is methylcobalamin, with one preferring a liposomal and micellar version for absorption, one suggesting a sublingual form for older people, and one giving a dose of 1 gram in the morning. Pairings mentioned include vitamin B6 and folate, methylated folic acid, and other B vitamins. On the cautious side, one panelist advises against it if the diet already supplies enough, one says to avoid it too close to bedtime, and one stopped taking it alongside fat burner injections and then had a rough period of emotional and hormonal imbalance.

RAL Summary
Members OnlyTier 4 for Energy
The ineffective grade rests mostly on trials of multi-ingredient blends with tiny vitamin B12 doses and on a review that could not analyze fatigue, so the evidence that vitamin B12 alone fails for energy is thin rather than good. So it is graded Tier 4, as the studies disagree.
- Emerging: not enough evidence to rank higher yet.
Where the evidence disagrees: 13 of the 19 human studies found no effect.

Members OnlyBody systems · Combine with · Possible side effects
Body systems: Nervous system, Blood
Combine with: To further enhance energy levels, consider combining Vitamin B12 with a B-complex vitamin to ensure all essential B vitamins are present for optimal metabolic function. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) can also be beneficial as it plays a crucial role in cellular energy production. For sustained energy and to combat fatigue, magnesium is a good addition, as it's involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions, including ATP synthesis. If fatigue is also linked to stress, adaptogens like Ashwagandha or Rhodiola could provide additional support.
Possible side effects: No major side effects reported. One trial of low-dose B vitamins saw slightly more activity limits from emotional problems.
