This product gives 500 mcg of vitamin B12 per tablet, a full single-ingredient dose. No study given here tested oral B12 alone at this dose for energy. A large review of 16 trials in 6276 people who were not low in B12 found no benefit for thinking or mood, and only one trial measured fatigue, too few to judge [1]. A single B12 injection did not ease voice fatigue in 20 singers [2]. Most other trials used blends or much smaller amounts of B12. About three years of low-dose B vitamins did not improve quality of life in 2029 heart patients [3]. A multinutrient mix did not change fatigue in 172 dialysis patients [4]. A combination product with a tiny amount of B12 did not reduce fatigue in 41 cyclists [5]. Injections of liver extract with folic acid and B12 did no better than placebo in 15 people with chronic fatigue syndrome [6]. Weaker reports suggest some benefit, such as a survey where about 40% of people with chronic fatigue felt much better on frequent injections. Overall, B12 seems unlikely to boost energy in people who are not deficient, but direct tests are lacking. Animal and cell studies are never counted.

This summary compiles customer feedback on Nature's Bounty Quick Dissolve B-12 500 mcg Natural Cherry Flavor tablets, drawing from approximately 272 ratings across various stores. The product is highly regarded, with 92% of reviews giving it 4 or 5 stars. **What it did for buyers** Many customers report positive effects from taking these B-12 tablets. A common theme is increased energy, with users noting "more consistent energy throughout the day" and feeling "noticeable improvement in my energy levels." Some specifically mention that it "helps support my energy levels without making me feel jittery." The supplement is also praised for being "gentle on my stomach," a significant benefit for those who have experienced irritation with other vitamins. Several users found it effective in addressing "low levels and my energy," often after a doctor's recommendation. **Complaints** While overwhelmingly positive, a few points of concern emerged. One customer reported receiving the "Wrong product was sent," indicating a shipping error rather than a product flaw. Another felt the product "isn't the highest quality B vitamin" compared to more expensive alternatives, though they still found it effective for the price. A review also noted that the 500 mcg dosage "far exceeds the minimum daily requirement," suggesting some users might prefer a smaller dose. **Taste, form, and size** The quick-dissolve nature of these tablets is a major highlight, with customers frequently mentioning how they "dissolve quickly" and are "easy to take without water." The small size is also appreciated, described as "small tablets" or "tiny, sublingual pill" that are easy to incorporate into a daily routine. Regarding taste, feedback varies: some find it has a "mild, pleasant taste" or "Nice cherry flavor," while others claim it has "No taste" or "don't really taste like cherry or anything at all." This suggests the cherry flavor is subtle or inconsistent for some. **Value for money** Customers consistently view Nature's Bounty B-12 as a good investment. Many reviews highlight its affordability and quality, stating it's a "good value for the quantity provided" and that the "price is really fair for the quality." It's often described as an "Inexpensive way to boost energy!" and an "affordable!" option that doesn't "cost you a fortune!" **Who it suits and who it did not** This B-12 supplement appears well-suited for individuals seeking a convenient, effective, and affordable way to support their energy levels and overall well-being. It's particularly beneficial for those who need a "gentle B-12" that doesn't cause stomach irritation. It's also a good fit for people looking for a quick-dissolve tablet that can be taken on the go without water. It may not be ideal for those seeking the absolute highest-tier B-vitamin on the market or those who require a significantly lower dosage. This summary focuses exclusively on the quick-dissolve tablets and does not include feedback on other forms of the product.

Biohacker Summary

Members Only6 of 10 recommend it
6 of 10 biohackers on our panel recommend it

Most of the panel recommends vitamin B12, and five of the ten gave a recommendation as their latest position, while two use it, two are neutral and one warns. The main reasons are nerve health and myelin, brain function and mood, and fixing a deficiency, with some also mentioning methylation, homocysteine, energy and even gray hair. Several prefer methylcobalamin, the methylated form, and one suggests liposomal or micellar versions or a sublingual form for better absorption, while one panelist takes 1 gram in the morning and another suggests keeping levels around 500. Pairings include vitamin B6 and folate, methylated folic acid for people who cannot process folic acid, and other B vitamins. Cautions came from one panelist who says to skip it if your diet already covers it, one who says to avoid it close to bedtime because it enhances light's melatonin-suppressing effects, and another who stopped it abruptly after taking it with fat burner injections and felt emotional and hormonal upheaval.

RAL Summary

Members OnlyTier 4 for Energy

The ineffective grade rests mostly on trials of multi-ingredient blends, very low doses or injections, and the one large review of B12 alone could not analyze fatigue, so the studies do not show that 500 mcg oral B12 fails for energy; the evidence is thin and conflicts with strongly positive reviews. So it is graded Tier 4, as the studies disagree.

  • Emerging: not enough evidence to rank higher yet.

Where the evidence disagrees: 13 of the 19 human studies found no effect.

Body systems: Nervous system, Blood

Combine with: For enhanced energy and overall metabolic support, B-12 can be effectively combined with a B-complex vitamin, as all B vitamins work synergistically. Folate (Vitamin B9) is particularly important, as it works closely with B-12 in red blood cell formation and DNA synthesis. Magnesium can also be a beneficial addition, as it plays a role in over 300 enzymatic reactions, including those involved in energy production.

Possible side effects: No major side effects reported; reviewers describe it as gentle on the stomach.
