This product gives 250 micrograms of vitamin D a day. That is a full dose compared with the studies, and it is above the recommended daily upper limit, so members can choose to take less. In people with type 2 diabetes, two large pooled analyses of 46 trials with 4,313 people and 39 trials with 2,982 people found that vitamin D modestly lowered fasting blood sugar, the long-term blood sugar marker and insulin resistance. The benefit was largest in people who were low in vitamin D, and with high doses over a short time [1][2]. In adults with prediabetes, three placebo-controlled trials found about 15% less risk of developing diabetes over about 3 years [3]. In pregnant women, 53 trials found about 36% less pregnancy diabetes [4]. The results are mixed, though. A trial of 22,220 older adults taking a lower daily dose for about 5 years found no clear drop in diabetes risk [5]. Another pooled analysis of 1,580 people with prediabetes found no change in fasting blood sugar or the long-term marker, though the glucose tolerance test improved [6]. Animal and cell studies are never counted.

Biohacker Summary
Members Only0 of 10 recommend it
Vitamin D3 is the main ingredient here, and most of the panel recommends or uses it: seven of the ten take or recommend it directly, and the other three are neutral but still speak well of it. People take it for immune health, bone strength, brain and mood, muscle, and general health or longevity, and several use it mainly in fall and winter when sun is limited. Doses named include 5,000 units a day taken in the morning by three of them, and one who urges at least 10,000 units daily, with a few others saying people are often deficient because they take too little. Several say to take it with dietary fat for better absorption, and to pair it with vitamin K2, with magnesium also mentioned once, and many suggest testing blood levels, with targets ranging from about 40 up to 100. One panelist cautions that for most purposes there is no point in supplementing unless you are deficient, and no one said they stopped taking it.
