aSquared Nutrition Berberine with Ceylon Cinnamon Review

Berberine with Ceylon Cinnamon from aSquared Nutrition is a capsule supplement built around 1200mg of Berberine HCl at a 20:1 extract ratio, delivering 24,000mg of raw powder equivalent per serving. The page states that the formula also includes 200mg of Ceylon Cinnamon 20:1 extract, included for added antioxidant support. The brand describes the blend as a bio-enhanced formula designed to improve absorption. It combines a 60mg Tri-Lipid Matrix made with MCT Oil Powder, Phosphatidylcholine, and Alpha-GPC, which the page says work together to optimize absorption and support energy, metabolism, and cognitive health. The product is sold as 120 vegan capsules per bottle. The page says the bottle is made in the USA, GMP certified, and third-party tested for purity and potency. It is described as Non-GMO and gluten-free. The brand lists four product highlights on the page. The first is USA formulation, which the brand says uses high-quality ingredients for superior safety, purity, and effectiveness. The second is natural ingredients, described as supporting health without artificial additives. The third is third-party testing in an ISO 17025 certified facility, which the page says ensures high standards of purity, potency, and quality. The fourth is a vegan-friendly formula, made without animal-derived components or by-products. The purchase section shows a one-time price of $29.99, a subscribe and save option at $26.99 with a 10 percent discount, and volume discounts of 10 percent for two, 15 percent for three, and 20 percent for four or more units applied to the total quantity in the cart. The page shows no customer reviews yet, with a prompt for the first review. The page does not list a serving size or a full supplement facts panel in the text captured here, so the number of servings per bottle and the complete ingredient list should be checked on the product label or elsewhere. Overall the page presents a berberine and cinnamon capsule focused on absorption support, metabolic and cognitive wellness, and clean-label manufacturing claims.

This product gives berberine at 1200 mg a day, twice the 600 mg that worked in studies. It also gives Ceylon cinnamon at 200 mg a day, above the 120 mg that helped in one trial. Berberine has strong human evidence for lowering blood sugar. Across 37 trials in 3,048 people with type 2 diabetes, it lowered fasting and long-term blood sugar without raising the risk of low blood sugar [1]. Another pooled analysis of 46 trials also found better insulin resistance and lower blood fats [2]. In 409 newly diagnosed adults, 12 weeks of berberine lowered long-term blood sugar more than placebo, but it caused more stomach upset [3]. Effects seemed weaker beyond 90 days or above 2 grams a day [4]. For cinnamon, a pooled analysis of 28 trials found lower fasting, after-meal and long-term blood sugar [5]. A trial of Ceylon cinnamon extract in 210 adults agreed [6]. Low doses of 120 to 360 mg of extract helped in 66 adults who were also taking meds [7]. Some cinnamon studies found no effect, so its evidence is less consistent than the evidence for berberine. The added fat-based absorption matrix has no study results given here. Animal and cell studies are never counted.

I could not open the full Amazon review pages for this exact product. The themes below come from what I could reach: review excerpts on retailer and affiliate pages, aSquared's other berberine products, and comparable berberine and cinnamon products. Treat them as indicative rather than exhaustive. Customers who like the product most often describe steadier blood sugar. Some mention fewer sweet cravings and better appetite control. Some say they feel more energy and alertness a few days after starting, and some report weight loss. Users who track A1C or fasting glucose say they see stable or improving numbers. They often combine the supplement with diet changes, so the supplement's own effect is hard to separate. Buyers like getting berberine and Ceylon cinnamon in one product. They often call this good value compared with buying two supplements. Several describe the capsules as easy to swallow and the potency as higher than competing brands. Many say they reordered after the first bottle. One affiliate review described the 4.5 average over about 238 reviews as consistent, and noted that some reviews were short and vague. It also found no serious complaints about side effects or quality. Complaints are less common but follow a pattern. The first is digestive upset. This covers cramps, loose stools, nausea and constipation, especially when starting or when taking several capsules at once. The usual advice is to take it with food and ramp up gradually. The second is no noticeable effect. Some users saw no change in glucose, weight or cholesterol, and results varied from person to person. The third is quality and authenticity doubt. A review site noted some customers complained about quality on the brand's older single-ingredient berberine. Independent testing by NOW reportedly found aSquared products failing potency checks. The fourth is price. The matrix formula costs more per serving than plain berberine HCl. Some shoppers also say that it takes a high daily capsule count to reach the full dose. A recurring caution in comparable reviews is to talk to a doctor before use, especially if already taking diabetes or other meds. Some users say they use berberine to avoid prescription side effects. Finally, there is skepticism about review authenticity on Amazon, with some sites saying many reviews there are paid or incentivized. Taken together, the feedback is favorable on convenience, value and perceived blood-sugar benefits. It is mixed on digestive tolerance and on confidence in label accuracy.

Biohacker Summary

Members Only9 of 10 recommend it
9 of 10 biohackers on our panel recommend it

Berberine is the main ingredient, and most of the panel recommends or uses it, mainly for blood sugar, with some also citing cholesterol, sleep, cravings and heart health. Doses come up as 500 mg with meals, taken up to three times a day, and two panelists mention dihydroberberine or a better absorbed form. Taking it with food is the key advice, since one panelist warns that an empty stomach brought headaches, dizziness and low blood sugar, while two others stopped using it and another is skeptical of the evidence for supplements in general. Another cautions about combining it with other glucose lowering products and talking to a doctor first. Cinnamon, also a main ingredient here, is used by about half the panel in coffee, oats, smoothies, puddings and desserts to support blood sugar, with one panelist using Ceylon cinnamon and one warning that it is high in oxalate.

RAL Summary

Members OnlyTier 4 for Blood Sugar

The review summary draws on other aSquared berberine products and on comparable berberine and cinnamon products, not readable reviews of this exact product, so it is set aside; no reviews were counted and the tier stands. Its reviews are set aside, so it is graded on its studies alone. Human studies support Berberine (52 of 63 human studies showed an improvement), but there are not yet enough reviews to confirm it (0).

  • Emerging: not enough evidence to rank higher yet.

Where the evidence disagrees: 24 of the 126 human studies found no effect.

Combine with: For blood sugar support, berberine pairs well with chromium picolinate, alpha-lipoic acid, and magnesium, which support insulin signaling and glucose uptake. Inositol (myo- and D-chiro) is a good addition for women with insulin resistance or PCOS. Soluble fiber such as psyllium or glucomannan can blunt post-meal glucose spikes and promote satiety if weight is also a goal. Omega-3 fish oil and vitamin D support metabolic and cardiovascular health. Take berberine with meals to limit GI upset. Consult a healthcare provider first if you take meds, because of additive glucose lowering and drug interactions, and avoid it during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects: Berberine caused more stomach upset than placebo in trials. No reviews of this product could be read.
